NOISY ENVIRONMENTS

Needing Extra Focus to Keep Up?

You may have noticed your loved one avoiding busy cafés or struggling to follow conversations in loud places. They might seem more easily overwhelmed by background noise or need extra focus just to keep up.

This isn’t about sensitivity or hearing loss. It’s often their weakened HEARING FILTERS: the system that helps us focus on one voice in noisy environments and supports our DIRECTIONAL HEARING.

GOOD NEWS: Our HEARING TRAINING strengthens their filters, supports their directional hearing, and works PREVENTATIVELY to keep their sense of hearing healthy and active.

HEARING LOSS

Not Hearing as Well as Before?

You may have noticed a decline in your loved one’s hearing. A hearing test may not feel necessary yet, or the result may be: “No hearing aids needed yet”.

Waiting for their hearing to decline doesn’t make sense and is frustrating when you’d rather take PROACTIVE CARE.

This is the perfect phase of their hearing journey to train their sense of hearing, strengthen their speech processing, and keep their cognitive abilities healthy.

GOOD NEWS: Our 20-DAY METHOD is designed for this type of REHABILITATION — and increases the chances of your loved one never needing hearing aids.

HEARING AIDS

Hearing Aids Aren’t ‘Plug & Play’!

The sudden shift in your loved one’s quality of hearing from “before” to “after” hearing aids can feel overwhelming. Sounds – including their own voice – can be louder, sharper, or simply unfamiliar.

That’s why the adaptation phase of their HEARING AID journey matters: your loved one needs time to ADJUST.

Without support, many people never fully adapt — which is why around 50% of hearing aids aren’t worn. With hearing training used alongside the fitting process, acceptance rises to over 90%.

GOOD NEWS: The TRUE LISTENING METHOD provides the HEARING TRAINING needed for successful hearing aid adaptation — whether as part of the FITTING PROCESS with a specialist or independently.

GOOD TO KNOW

Put Your Empathy and Patience to Practice.

Mind Your Step!

People with serious HEARING LOSS often don’t hear their own footsteps — a sound the brain usually processes automatically. Instead, when this input is missing, the brain instinctively RELIES ON VISUAL CUES. As a result, people may look down more often to feel sure of their footing.
TIP: WALK BESIDE your loved one and match their pace so they can walk securely and look ahead with CONFIDENCE.

Yelling and Shouting?

When speaking to a loved one with hearing loss, louder voices can easily make them feel stressed. Their brain interprets your louder volume and tense facial expressions as a threat, which makes them feel ANXIOUS or WITHDRAWN, even if they say they “don’t mind”.
TIP: You may not be able to lower your voice when talking to a loved one with hearing loss, but you can: look at them so they can read your lips, speak slowly, and add a smile or touch to make LOUDER MOMENTS feel WARM.

Use It or Lose It!

If your loved one chooses not to wear HEARING AIDS, that’s their choice! — Respect their choice and make them aware of the risks involved.
Too little acoustic stimulation causes their sense of hearing to deteriorate — speech comprehension fades and the risk of COGNITIVE DECLINE and DEMENTIA increases.
TIP: Encourage them to train their sense of hearing — to maintain their SPEECH PROCESSING and COGNITIVE FUNCTION.

SHARING IS CARING
